Am 27 yrs old woman, height 5’3″ weight 62. I was 66 kg in the month of December. It took me almost 7 months to lose 4 kg. Right now I am stuck at 62 kg. I follow a normal diet but during weekends I tend to over eat. I want to reduce my weight to 55kg. I workout for 45mins 6 days a week. Kindly help me
First of all, well done on losing 4 kilos, this is a good result. Your BMI was 25.9, meaning that you were overweight on the BMI scale; now it is 24.3, meaning that you are a healthy weight, although the top end of healthy.
You have probably highlighted your main problem – overeating at the weekends. The weekend is 29% of the entire week – more if you add Friday night too. So over eating during this time WILL make a difference.
You should start to plan for over eating, and also try to reduce the overeating a little. Planning for overeating involves eating much smaller meals. For example, have just 1 boiled egg for breakfast (nothing with it at all, and certainly no bread) and then have a very light small lunch. This assumes that it is the evening meal that tends to lead to the overeating.
You should also take a look at the balance of your diet throughout the week. Are you relying too heavily on bread and other high energy foods to fill you up? If so, cut back here. Meals should ideally consist of some protein and mostly vegetables.
As for exercise, you are exercising enough, but maybe you could improve the exercise that you do. If you do the same workout every day then start to mix it up. Add in some more resistance training, try some interval training too. Push yourself, and set some fitness goals, such as lifting a heavier weight or cycling 1 mile faster.
Just keep working hard at it and don’t give up.
