Taylor Swift is fast becoming one of America’s most popular actresses and country pop singers. She has made several albums, most notably Fearless and Red, and has also been in film and television, being the voice of Audrey in Lorax, appearing as Rosemary in The Giver, and Elaine in New Girl on Fox. She is 5-foot-10 tall, weighs about 59 kg (130 lbs) and is a fitness fanatic. She says that health is a big part of being happy.

Running

Taylor stays in shape mostly by running. She runs for around 60-minutes every day using a treadmill.

She explained in an interview with WebMD: “For me, running is about blasting a whole bunch of new songs and running to the beat. It’s also good because it makes me find a gym wherever I am,” she says. Unlike other famous colleagues, “I’m very much out in the world, and I love exploring the places we go when we tour. It’s important for me to live a full life.”

This explains how she has such sexy and lean legs.

Strength and toning

As well as running she frequents gyms and dance studios. She has bee seen visiting a dance studio in El Lay and taking gym sessions in Los Angeles. Taylor Swift also has worked on her fitness at the Tracy Anderson Studio. While running is great for cardiovascular fitness and maintaining a healthy weight, the gym is needed for toning.

Hiking and dancing

In an interview with E! magazine she explained that she gets a lot of here exercise outside of the gym: “I do things that don’t feel like working out, like I dance a lot and I do a lot of hiking,”

For Taylor exercise is about working out hard, to do it properly involves seating and panting and generally making yourself exhausted.

“I like to feel really tired afterward, sweaty and disgusting. I don’t care about losing weight as much as feeling good about myself.

Taylor admits that one of the reasons why she loves to exercise so much is so that she can indulge her passion for food:

“You can’t indulge without exercising, so I exercise because I love eating and I don’t want to live without anything. But I also exercise because on the occasional day when I’m feeling low, it always makes me feel better.”

Diet – what Taylor eats

Taylor takes a sensible approach to her diet. She tries to stay healthy during the week, giving herself five days of salads, vegetables and generally healthy and nutritious food. She then lets her hair down a little at the weekend to have a few treats. She explained that: “During the week, I try to eat healthily, so that means salads, yogurt, and sandwiches. No sugary drinks. I try to keep it lighter, but it’s nothing too regimented or crazy. I don’t like to create too many rules where I don’t need them. We know what’s good for us, thanks to common sense.”

Taylor also loves to cook her own meals. Cooking is a great way to eat healthy as you know that only the best, freshest ingredients are used. If you cook from scratch you will never need to eat junk food or chemical preservatives.

She says that her favorite season is winter because the cold weather allows her to sample her favorite foods which are pumpkin, molasses, cinnamon and nutmeg.

“I bake pumpkin bread for everyone I know and make ginger molasses cookies and hot chocolate and chai. It’s the most perfect time for baking for people you love.”

Taylor enjoys comfort foods too and will indulge in some fastfood / junk food now and then: “I love a burger and fries, I love ice cream so much, and I love baking cookies. Actually, I love baking anything.”

One of her regular treats is a daily skinny vanilla latte from Starbucks on weekdays, and spiced pumpkin lattes on weekends.

Diet monitor

Taylor manages her diet by making a mental note of what she has eaten, and how much.  She explained that: “I keep an internal gauge of whether it’s been a healthy week or not,” – if unhealthy she makes little changes to ensure the following week is healthier.

Water makes up most of what she drinks, other than her lattes. “I drink so much water my friends call me an alien.”

Taylor Swift stays in good shape simply by being active and eating a well-balanced, sensible diet. She eats healthy during the week so that she can enjoy her weekends with baking and eating burgers. She runs every day and also visits gyms to perform toning exercises.
