Ellie Goulding – The Marathon Runner

Ellie Goulding was on GMTV this morning promoting her current CD and also talking about her success (she won Critics Choice Award in the Brit Awards).

She is in great shape and told GMTV that she loves to run and exercise to stay in shape. She did not go into any detail on how she exercised but did go on to emphasize that she mostly goes running to stay in shape.

According to her Twitter page @elliegoulding she has been doing some resistance training:

“Trained HARD today between guitaring sessions and am soaked. Quietly confident and very safe in the knowledge that I am one strong Ellie”

Ellie has been training hard at running as she is planning to run 78 miles for charity. Well, she is planning to run 3 separate marathons for charity, so will not run 78 miles all at once! In June she was doing 11 mile runs. She hopes to run the New York marathon in 2011.

She told Competitor in 2013: “I started running when I was 18. I can’t remember the exact day, but I remember waking up and thinking I really need to run”.

Ellie Goulding Does Capoeira

According to her Twitter feed she also has done some Capoeira. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that is performed to a rhythm and is very acrobatic and dance like. It requires excellent muscular endurance, flexibility, speed and strength to perform it well. She did this with a friend and it is not something that she does on a regular basis.

Ellie’s Diet

She eats a sensible, healthy and balanced diet. She does not drink alcohol, which helps keep her very healthy and helps keep the weight off too. This is really the only way to lose weight effectively and keep it off.

She is also now a vegetarian and says that her skin has improved as well as her body.

Ellie manages her weight by following a sensible diet and fitness regime. It is really just what everyone can and should do. There is nothing out of the ordinary really, no Hollywood secret fitness plans and not fad diets. Just good old fashioned healthy food and exercise. Well done Ellie!
