Belinda Carlisle is the American singer better known for singing “Heaven Is a Place on Earth”. However, at the age of 55 years she has decided to try out a new career.
Belinda Carlisle’s diet
Belinda Carlisle is a vegetarian and supports animals rights. She was one of the first celebrities to pose naked in PETA’s compaign to “Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” in 1990.
However, for 20 years she stopped being a vegetarian. But in an interview with PETA she revealed that she had returned to being a vegetarian. It was when she also started practising Kundalini yoga that she decided it was time to be a vegetarian again.
“I just couldn’t eat meat any more. I found it disgusting and I can’t support factory farming – it’s too cruel. I don’t feel deprived, though, even though I don’t drink, smoke or eat meat. I’ve had 30 years of all that and I don’t feel I’m missing anything.”
She added in the PETA interview that: “I started practising yoga, which is all about nonviolence, and realized eating meat isn’t compatible with that. Now I teach yoga, and I’m so full of pride not to support factory farms and to be socially responsible.”
Favorite vegan food
Some of her favorite food is vegan; she told PETA that she really likes Vegan Sloppy Joes, vegan BLTs, and hummus. In fact, “anything that doesn’t leave a bloody aftertaste.”
Kundalini yoga

The main focus on this form of yoga is the awakening kundalini energy by means of meditation, pranayama, chanting mantra and yoga asana (the yoga postures). It is more spiritual that the type of yoga that is often seen in gyms and is a different branch to that of Hatha yoga.
