My Running Blog

I have just got back from my first run in ages. I ran / jogged for 20 minutes and 47 seconds. Feeling a little giddy now! My calves ache a little already. Sweating loads.

I can only improve on this. My aim to is to get to a point where I can run everyday for about 20 minutes, and do some longer runs once in a while.

My second run

Just got back from my second run. My thighs are aching from yesterday, but I am determined to run every day. I took this evenings run slowly as I felt that I was lacking energy. I also took a shorter route, as yesterdays route includes an overgrown path, which I am not confident I can easily navigate between the stinging nettles and the thistles in the twilight.

I ran for 17:32 minutes, which I am pleased with. I worked up a good sweat, but do not feel that I have over done things. My right ankle did start to ache a little (the one I twisted badly last year) so that was another reason to go easy. I attempted a small sprint on the last stretch back home, and managed to get to the top of the slope without having to slow down. That felt good. Now need to cool down before eating a late supper.

Day 3 of the running for fitness and weight loss plan

I decided that it would be sensible to have a rest day. My plan is to get to a point where I can run every day, however my thighs were really aching yesterday (Sunday) and also my knee was clicking clightly. So a day of rest was had. A stroll up to the park with my wife and child was all I felt like enduring for the day. Spent most of the day either reading or watching TV. Although I did build a cot for Beni, but it did not require much effort.

Tonight I plan to go to both my kick-boxing class and kung-f class (2 hours of exercise) so I definitely will not be running tonight!

Running in the rain

OK, my plan is to run everyday, but it is raining, and it is getting darker as each minute passes. I don’t really want to have to do this, but seeing that I said I would run on every non-kung-fu day, I have little choice. I have to go for a run, in the rain. So wish me luck!
