Hi Ivan, does not really make much different. If you do 45-60 minutes every day and vary your exercise (some days steady cardio, some days bodyweight training, some weight training, some intensive intervals) you will get fit. To lose the belly fat you need to also eat healthy. We have a page dedicated to that topic.

Do you exercise? Also, drinking less caffeine can help, so if you drink coffee or tea in the evening cut back.

I "stay" in bed for at least 7-8 hours a night but get very interrupted sleep mostly due to night sweats related to menopausal symptoms. I've tried sleep medications, not drinking alcohol, etc. and all help but do not eliminate my poor sleep. I don't feel tired during the day and have a fair amount of energy but worry about long term effects of poor sleep. Any comments?

That is right kbriennna. Water is vital for good health but as far as I know it has no impact on metabolism, at least, not in the sense that more water increases metabolism. Water is vital for most body functions though.

Hi kbrienna, firstly, do you exercise at all? The first step should be to start increasing exercise to raise metabolism and burn some more energy. Then look at your diet and try to eliminate high GI foods and generally control calories more strictly.
