Seated Calf Raise

If you wish to isolate the calves further, then the seated calf raise does this. Unlike the standing calf raise it requires a specific piece of equipment.

The seated calf raise is performed by flexing the feet to lift a weight held on the knees. This is an isolation exercise for the calves, and particularly emphasizes the soleus muscle.
