No, I don't eat all of that in one day LOL! The / is my "or" sign. So I eat for breakfast bagel w/cream cheese OR oatmeal with brown sugar and almonds OR Carnation instant breakfast drink with some dry cereal. Lunch is
either leftovers from dinner the night before OR tomato soup made with milk OR ham sandwich with chips and a pop OR tuna salad with mayo, mustard, and spices.
I think the longer workout on Friday and Sunday would be great...except my darling husband doesn't enjoy the gym. He has a hard time keeping his mind occupied when he's on the treadmill or elliptical. It's funny because there are lots of cute women there, so I would have thought that they would have kept his mind occupied. I do think the long workout on Friday will definitely work. My husband works swing shift so I can go when he leaves for work and spend some quality time there.

I can see where I need to tweak what I am eating though. No pop or chips is a good start.

Hi Stephanie, sounds like you are making great progress. Keep pushing your fitness and also look for ways to cut additional calories. Smaller portions is one way. Brown rice is not really bad, it is just a matter of not eating too many calories. Snack bars are not unhealthy, but they do add to your daily calories.

Hi Anna, regarding exercise it really is a matter of exercising daily and just focussing on getting fitter. As you get fitter you can work harder and burn more fat. For diet, reduce calories, try to eat a well balanced diet, eat more pulses, nuts and seeds for the proteins and do not rely too heavily on cheese and breads.

Hello,

I've been going to the gym for 11 weeks, and Iv'e lost 15 pounds. I used to weigh 145lbs and now I weigh 130, and I am 5'1. My target goal weight was 135 but now I see that I am still losing more weight. I exercise 4 times weekly, and do intensive cardio workouts after each session. I reduced my calorie intake, eliminated fruit drinks, and tried eating more protein like lean meats, eggs, etc. but I still would eat bread but whole grain, or brown rice, or whole wheat pasta but I always measured portions. Iv'e noticed a big difference in my stomach, but I still have that lower pouch. Should I eliminate the rice, and bread completely even if it is whole grain or brown rice. And what would you say is a reasonable consumption of sugar for a person of my weight and height, because I have reduced my consumption of sugar tremendously but I don't know if I should take it a step further.

Are diet snack bars bad for you also? For example Special K granola Bars?

Thank You

Hi,
I had a c-section 1 year back and I am still breastfeeding. Now I want to loose weight. I am a vegetarian which means no fish and eggs. I would appreciate if I can get a help on my diet and exercise program. I have gained 17kg.

Beyonce was looking great today. She gave birth just a few weeks ago and has already got back into excellent shape. Of course, she is very used to doing daily workouts and knows exactly what she needs to do to be in shape.

Being in good shape after birth is actually natural, unfortunately many women do no exercise at all during pregnancy or for a long time after giving birth.

Hi Tommy, assuming that you are increasing the amount of weight training you are doing, I would stick with the basic calculation / check the label on the product you purchase. What is most important is to monitor your progress and adjust calorie intake and exercise in response to changes. If you start to gain fat you should be able to spot this immediately if you are paying attention and take action to rectify.

Sttan, if you are working your lower body hard take the normal amount, but be careful with the rest of your diet. Regular cardio should help keep the fat down.

Really you need to get more active and restrict the eating. Maybe try to do 2 long workouts on the Fridays and Sundays - if you can do them with your partner you still get to spend time together.

Hi Raj, if you are looking to lose around 1 kg a week (2 pounds a week) you need to restrict calories by around 1000 Calories a day. Depends partly on your age, but on days you are exercising hard then you need to have around 2000 Calories. See the charts above.

Hi Chelsea, what are you finding hard about the DVDs? Do you mean you find it hard to find the time to follow the plan, or the exercise is hard? If that latter, then you just need to keep working. Losing weight is hard work and you have to be prepared to push yourself hard.

I am wondering how i can manage to get down to like 110-115 in a three month span, two if possible. I am currently 131 pounds and five foot three inches. I'm 19 years old, and I have been currently eating smaller portions and at least five portions a day. I wake up every morning do a hundred sit ups, and do at least two work out dvds, the firm, and p 90x. I find it to hard for me to do these dvds so I was curious to see if you could find me a a plan that won't be hard to do at home. I would love to Flatten my stomach and loose the 16-20 pounds I want to loose before summer.
           Thank you.
