Just had a quick run to finish the week. As my aim now is to improve speed, and actually run instead of jog, I headed off at a reasonable pace, aiming to really work the legs and lungs. I kept the pac up for about half the circuit, then had to slow down as my calves started to tighten up. I walked for a short distance, and then continued to jog. When I got onto the home straight I increased the pace so that I was running as fast as I could, and kept it up almost all the way home, but then had to walk for the last part.
My ankles / achilles were much better this evening. I warmed up my knees and ankles a little before going out. THis may have helped.
I have put my short run on the walkjogrun website, but the site is now not working, so I probably need to find a new way to log my routes and distances. Maybe I will see if I can get a friend to build something for this site.
