Kate Winslet Wins Libel Case Regarding Her Exercise Regime

Kate Winslet
Sometimes celebrities make it into the news for all the wrong reasons. This week it is Kate Winslet, the beautiful British actress who is proud to not have leaped on the size zero bandwagon that afflicts so many Hollywood actresses and models.
The Daily Mail has paid Kate Winslet £25,000 after it suggested that she did lie about her exercise regime and that she did not deserve her Oscar. The newspaper article was published in January 2009 with the headline “Should Kate Winslet win an Oscar for the world’s most irritating actress?” and went on to say that she did not look after her body. It even published several naked photographs of Kate Winslet from various films to strengthen its claim that she was not sexy enough.
Kate made the following statement:
“I was particularly upset to be accused of lying about my exercise regime and felt that I had a responsibility to request an apology in order to demonstrate my commitment to the views that I have always expressed about body issues, including diet and exercise. I strongly believe that women should be encouraged to accept themselves as they are, so to suggest that I was lying was an unacceptable accusation of hypocrisy.”
How Does Kate Winslet Stay in Shape?
Kate Winslet admits that like many people, she is no fan of the gym and often does not have time to go. She prefers to do Pilates DVD workouts at home, and exercises everyday for at least 20 minutes. Pilates is an excellent way to stay in shape, and Kate is in good shape. She is both sexy and slightly curvy. She is certainly not at all overweight, and looks healthy and in great physical condition. She should be commended for standing up for herself and being proud to be a beautiful woman.
