Is David Beckham America’s Biggest Sporting Failure?
David Beckham, soccer player for LA Galaxy, has been named as one of America’s biggest sporting failures! The Maxim magazine described his move to LA as a catastrophe:
“Three seasons into what was supposed to be the magic bullet that finally made soccer relevant (i.e. profitable, interesting, televised) in the U.S., David Beckham’s much publicised move to MLS and his grotesquely huge contract are nothing short of a catastrophe.” Maxim Magazine.
LA Galaxy fans recently booed at Beckham when he returned to Galaxy after a loan to AC Milan finished. American soccer fans think that he has not only failed LA Galaxy, but failed the American Soccer movement.
