    One criticism of this method, or the basis of the method, is the idea that often home gym equipment and commercial gyms are a waste of money. OK, it is true that many gyms do rip you off, and some home gym equipment is bought and never used, but to follow this approach you need to be doing compound weight training, and work the big muscle groups. To do this you need to be able to squat and bench press in a safe environment. This involves either joining a weight lifting gym or buying a squat rack / power cage and free weights. Not all home gym equipment is a waste of money, some of it is essential.
