Juan Martin Del Potro Destroys Federer in the US Open
A 20 year old Argentine has beaten the mighty Roger Federer in the US Open. The US Open in New York was first major title that Juan Martin Del Potro has won. This marked the first defeat that Federer has had at Flushing Meadows since 2003.
Before beating Federer in the final, del Potro beat Nadal in the semi.
Del Potro’s Training and Diet
Currently we know little about this young Argentine, who has come from the depths of South American to crush the mighty Swiss in the USA. Del Potro’s father, Daniel, was a rugby plater, and also a vegetarian. Is Del Potro a vegetarian? We still do not know, but if he is, this could spur a new interest in vegetarianism. There is always an opinion that athletes need meat to nourish their muscles. But some say that this is simply not true.
Del Potro is very agile, especially for someone standing 6 feet 6 tall (198cm). He weighs 180lbs (83kg), and although not so muscular as Nadal, he is certainly very athletic and has a good core strength.
