Four Jamaican Athletes Banned

Four Jamaican athletes have been banned from competing for three months after failing to attend drug tests. However, the ban will take place during the off season.

One of the four is Usain Bolt’s training partner Yohan Blake, who has run 100m in 9.93sec.

All four tested positive for methylexaneamine, which is often in drugs under the name of Forthan, Forthane, Floradrene and Geranamine. Although methylexaneamine is not currently a banned substance, it was decided that as the drug was similar in structure to the banned substance tuaminoheptane, then the athletes should receive a ban.

The other athletes are another 100m sprinter, Marvin Anderson, and two 400m runners, Lanceford Spence and Allodin Fothergill.
