Sarkozy Collapses While Jogging

Yesterday the French President, Nicolas Sarkozy, collapsed while out having his daily run. At first people feared that he had had a heart attack, however tests quickly showed that it was a vasovagol episode, which is rarely serious, bur affects people that are under stress or exercise too much.

Sarkozy’s buddy, Patrick Balkany, suggested that the problem was caused by a restrictive diet that he had recently adopted to try to stay trim.  Last night Sarkozy had a good appetite, showing that he was on the mend and possibly taking some nutritional advice from his doctor. Restrictive diets and exercise can be a dangerous combination.

President Sarkozy runs for about an hour 3 or 4 times a week. Last week his health records were published by Elysee Palace, and his blood pressure and heart were declared fit and healthy.

So, what can we learn freom this event? No one is invincible. Poor diet can cause health problems. Over training is also bad for your health. Although exercise is an excellent way to cope with stress, a stressful lifestyle combined with poor diet and too much activity can wreck havoc on our bodies.
