Asafa Powell Accuses British Sprinters of Being Lazy
Jamaica’s second most famous sprinter, Asafa Powell, today accused British sprinters of failing on the track due to their laziness. Asafa and his countryman, Usain Bolt, the fastest man in the world, are both running at the London Grand Prix at Crystal Palace this weekend.
“I’ve said over the years that British sprinters are very lazy and don’t really want to practise. Maybe it’s comfort. In Jamaica, you have to work harder for what you want.” Asafa Powell, 2009.
Sounds like fighting talk, although his only threat other than Usain is Britain’s 23-year-old Simeon Williamson, who recently ran 100m in 10.05 seconds
