Alli Slimming Pill May Cause Liver Damage

A health warning was released today regarding the prescription slimming pill Alli, made by GlaxoSmithKline.

The pill was released in April and hailed as a wonder drug, the the potential to help obese patients lose 50% more weight. The drug was approved after tests by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency, however recent studies indicate that it may be responsible for liver damage. The drug works by blocking the absorption of dietary fats during digestion. Investigations are continuing, and if proved conclusive then the drug will be recalled and banned.
