Stress Self Help Articles Section Updated
We have updated our stress section, which we admit had been neglected recently in favor of articles and advice on physical fitness.
Currently our articles on stress are limited to a small selection of self help topics, such as reducing stress with exercise, using meditation to manage stress, and stress tips for working mums.
Ultimately we at Motley Health believe that a majority of stress related problems can be managed through improved diet and regular exercise. Tackling the cause of stress is not always possible, at least not without quitting a stressful job, and leaving a stressful household.
These options are rarely viable or desired, therefore stress management, or stress relief, through activity, socializing and taking control of your life are the best ways to deal with the situation. Only if lifestyle changes fail to work should you resort to medication.

Stress management is definitely a complex matter and effective solutions are as varied as individual personalities and lifestyles. However, vigorous daily exercise, meditation, and/or yoga are at least partial remedies for many people. I personally find that playing the acoustic guitar, going for a walk (and appreciating the scenery and other sensory aspects of walking), or focusing on living in the present moment, rather than worrying about the future or obsessing about the past, are a few simple techniques that often work for me.
