Exercise Outdoors for Improved Mental Health

“British researchers found that people who exercised outdoors reduced their depression by 71 percent, while indoor exercisers’ depression decreased by only 45 percent after their workouts.”

This tip is number 37 on MSN’s 50 Ways to Beat the Reaper. Any form of exercise can help people with depression, but exercising outdoors, such as jogging in a park, walking in woodland, or cycling in the countryside, can all do a lot to help with depression, and improve mental health. Many people spend far too much time either working in an office or locked up inside their own homes. Getting some fresh air and exercise may be the answer if you have been feeling a bit down recently.
