Cage Fighting / MMA becoming increasingly popular

continued below ....

This report from the BBC is about the increasing popularity of cage fighting in the UK. Cage fighting is legal in the UK, however there are many people that do not consider this a proper sport due to its apparently violent nature. However, cage fighters and cage fighting promoters point out that there are fewer serious injuries in cage fighting than in boxing, and that cage fighting is a disciplined combat system, requiring mastering several different fighting styles, including boxing, grappling and submission wrestling, and kick-boxing.

Although cage fighters do not have the fame and fortune of boxers, this form of combat does appear to be becoming a more mainstream sporting event, with increasing audiences and larger venues for competitions.
