Simple cardio – yoga circuit for strength, fitness and stability

Good old fashioned circuit training exercises are great. I like to do a simple circuit when I do not have time for a weight training session or a visit to my martial arts club. The exercises are usually as follows – each exercise should flow to the next, although the sit ups at the end do not flow!

  1. Squats – 10
  2. continued below ....

  3. Squat thrusts – 10
  4. Press ups – 10
  5. left side plank – hold
  6. plank – hold
  7. right side plank – hold
  8. plank – hold
  9. squat thrust feet forward then sit and roll back for;
  10. sit ups – 10

and repeat.

The yoga planks give you time to get your breath back before repeating the circuit. Keep going for as long as possible! Excellent all round toning with some stability exercises thrown in (planks) which also act as a breather.

Enjoy, and let me know how you get on with them!
