Google’s Policy on Health Care Information Matters

Few people realise that Google has a policy on health care, and health care information. Linked is a Blog entry posted by Adam Bosworth, Vice President of Google, detailing what he wishes health care to provide.

He states that “one key part of the solution to these problems is a better educated patient. If patients understand their diseases better — the symptoms, the treatments, the drugs, and the side effects, they are likely to get better and quicker care — before, during, and after treatment.”

Really this same approach applies to all aspects of health and fitness, both physical and mental. Educated people are generally healthier people. Education give empowerment to enable people to understand diagnosis and make decisions for themselves, or to question a professional opinion, to potentially improve the quality of care that they receive. Leanring more about how our bodies function, about nutrition and diet, and how the health care system works, can help us to attain a fuller and happy life.
