Coffee may help relieve gym pain

Possibly good news for lovers of coffee who work out. Recent research has shown than consuming coffee after an intensive weight training work out can help to reduce the muscular pain felt during the rebuilding process. Many people are put off exercise by the post workout pain – so helping yourself to a cup off coffee afterwards could really help you to keep motivated for the next session.

However, in the study the volunteers were not previously coffee drinkers, and it is thought that the effect may be negligible for those that consume coffee on a regular basis.

“The researchers studied nine female college students who were not regular caffeine users and did not engage in regular strength-building training.”

However, if you feel that you do struggle after an intensive training session, then having a coffee can do no harm, and may certainly make you feel better.
