Obesity is all in the brain

Recent research published in New Scientist has revealed that the brains of overweight people have more receptors for the neurotransmitter serotonin than those of people of normal weight, suggesting that being overweight may be down to more than just eating habits and may have an origin in brain chemistry. And genetics determines whether or not a person is likely to have more of these receptors that average.

Of course, this still does not change the fact that willpower can allow and individual to overcome the urge to eat more, and a good healthy diet and exercise will help keep weight under control.
